Unknown This species is known only from Milne Bay Province in Papua New Guinea, specifically from the eastern slopes of two of the D'Entrecasteaux Islands, Goodenough Island and Fergusson Island. It has been recorded at 1,600 m asl from Goodenough Island and at an elevation range of 1,720-1,830 m asl from Fergusson Island. Its estimated extent of occurrence (EOO) is 728.7914 km2. The estimated range of this species includes portions of the Oi Mada Wara Wildlife Management Area, however its occurrence in this area has not been confirmed.

There is a need for monitoring the population status of this species given the potential for the encroachment of threats that currently are restricted to lower elevations.

Threats unknown No major threats to this species have been identified at the higher altitudes where it occurs. The habitat on Goodenough Island is heavily impacted by gardening and fires, as well by as expanding human populations, up to 300 m asl, but is still intact at higher altitudes. On Fergusson Island, the habitat is impacted by gardening up to 300-400 m asl in the east, and up to 700 m asl in the west.
